Durban – Two motorists were injured on Monday evening when a truck’s container toppled onto a passing vehicle on Harry Gwala Road, just after Pavilion Shopping Centre.
Emergency teams from ALS Paramedics arrived shortly after 5pm to find a chaotic scene where the truck’s container had landed on top of a light motor vehicle. A second car was also involved in the crash.
Both drivers of the smaller vehicles sustained moderate injuries. They were treated on scene and stabilised by Advanced Life Support paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
The truck driver was not present when paramedics arrived. Witnesses at the scene claimed he fled following the accident, though this has not been officially confirmed.
