Two security guards were shot while on duty at a business premises on Sunday morning in Jacobs, south of Durban.
Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said the incident happened around 3am on Richard Carte Road.
“On arrival paramedics found two guards believed to be in their late forties had been shot by unknown persons,” he said.
“One guard had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body whilst a second guard had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremities.”
Jamieson said the men were stabilised on the scene and one had to be airlifted to a specialist facility due to the severity of their injures.
At the time of publication the events leading up to the shooting were unknown.
